Epson R800 Ink

The Epson R800, which is essentially a letter-sized big brother to the Epson 2200 is not just a typical snapshot photo printer.  Aside from being much more expensive than one, the R800 quality that prints is much higher and the colors are more vibrant.  Expanding on the color range set forth by the Epson 2200, the R800 includes the traditional yellow, magenta and cyan but also red and blue.  This helps to enhance the warmth or coolness of the color tones of each picture and provide better detail and color.

When you ask the question, “What is so special about the Epson R800’s Ink?” one usually expects a long, drawn out answer. However, the short and concise answer is that there is no one thing particularly interesting about the ink itself, but there is definitely something to be said about the combinations that the ink is able to put together.  A total of eight cartridges including colors, blacks and glossy or matte finishes give the user a broad spectrum of colors and combinations to properly capture the lights, darks and every hue in between.

The prints produced by the R800 are very clear, concise and sharp.  You will probably have more problems with the accuracy of your digital camera than you will of this printer.  The 180 jets assure you of that.  In addition to great quality, you can add speed to the list as well, and in more ways than one.  The speed of the printer makes the R800 one of the fastest released by the company.  In addition, the quick drying ink helps keep your snapshots form smudging onto one another.  This is a simple solution to a fairly common problem.

Now for what some might consider the bad news about the Epson R800 ink jet refills.  You would expect that ink cartridges of this size would be difficult to find end even harder to afford.  However, that’s really only half true.  Brand new Epson r800 inkjet refills are a little on the costly side, but so is the printer for that matter.  However, available replacements are extremely common and are usually less than $10, (bearing in mind that each printer needs eight cartridges to operate on all four cylinders.  Either way, it’s hard to see the R800 inkjets or the printer itself as a bad deal.  It’s most definitely a front runner for printing those cherished vacation photos.
